A building with history
The property that houses the business was built in the early 1920s by Basque sheepherders who grazed their flocks in the area during the warm summer months. It operated as a boarding house where the sheepherders would gather to eat, sleep, and enjoy each other's company. Around what is now the outdoor patio, open year-round, they built a handball court. The building was completely rebuilt from the inside out in 2014, maintaining its historic structure as much as possible. Today it is a gathering point for the Southside neighborhood and a source of pride for the city.
