About FreePrints

FreePrints: mobile photo printing with a free monthly allowance

FreePrints is a mobile app developed by PlanetArt, LLC that lets users print photos directly from their phone or tablet. The service is presented as a solution to the problem that our most important photos stay on our mobile devices with no easy way to get them printed.

Origin of the project

The parent company started as a retail photo lab in Midland, Texas, as a processor of photo prints. After many successful years in the business, we introduced our FreePrints mobile app to solve a seemingly obvious problem: all of our most important photos live on our phones and tablets, and yet there has never been an easy way to get them printed. After one too many fights with USB sticks, photo kiosks and unreliable retailer websites, we set out to solve the problem: enter FreePrints.

What the free offering includes

The service allows you to get up to 85 free 4x6-inch prints per month, with a limit of one free print per photo, which adds up to up to 1,000 free 4x6 prints per year. Prints are made on your choice of deluxe glossy or premium matte paper and are delivered to your doorstep in just days.

Paid options and additional formats

Beyond the free monthly allowance, the app lets you buy additional 4x6 prints and other sizes: 5x5, 5x7, 8x10, 11x14, 12x18, 16x20, 20x30 and wallet. Shipping and handling starts at $1.99 and is never more than $9.99, no matter how many prints you order.

How the app works

Ordering is a two-step process. Just open the FreePrints app and select the photos you want to print from your phone or from albums on Google Photos, Facebook, Dropbox and more. Then select the quantities and you're done. The app also lets you crop your photos for the perfect look and makes it easy to order other sizes.

Recognition and community

The company says a recent survey ranked FreePrints #1 among the world's 137 photo printing apps. It also highlights the community that has grown around the app and welcomes you to what it describes as the growing FreePrints family.

Privacy and user rights

The company states that it honors the sale and sharing preferences of users, who may exercise their right to limit the sale/sharing of their personal information by using the Opt-Out Preference Signal, such as the Global Privacy Control (GPC). The website refers to its Privacy Policy and California Privacy Rights for more information.
