FileWorld

FileWorld: online tools to convert, edit and manage files

FileWorld is a web platform that groups a set of utilities for working with files directly from the browser, without the need to install programs. Its offering is built around conversion, compression, editing and other operations on documents, images, audio and video, with the stated goal of simplifying day-to-day file management.

Conversion and compression features

The tool allows you to convert virtually any file from one format to another. Among the most notable conversions in the catalog are PDF to Word, Word to PDF, PDF to EPUB, JPG to PNG and PNG to SVG. It also offers compression of PDF, PNG and JPG files, adjusting the size without the platform indicating any loss of quality. The site claims to support over 200 formats, including documents, images, audio, video, presentations, fonts and ebooks.

Editing and managing PDF documents

The editing section includes specific operations on PDFs: merging multiple files into one, splitting a PDF, digitally signing, locking and unlocking documents, adding annotations, extracting pages, organizing page order and deleting pages. It also allows you to fill out forms online, with support for common forms such as W-9, W-4, I-9, W-8BEN, DS-11, DS-82 and SSA-561-U2.

Translation, summarization and transcription

FileWorld includes complementary tools that go beyond conversion. It is possible to translate files instantly, summarize documents to get the key points and convert audio to text. It also features optical character recognition (OCR) to extract text from images, PDFs and scans, as well as video-to-text transcription.

How it works and security

The usage process is described in three steps: upload the file from your computer, choose the desired outcome (conversion format or compression level) and download the resulting file. The platform works entirely online and requires no installation. As for privacy, the site states that files are automatically deleted from the servers one hour after processing and that processes are managed with AWS.

Plans and access conditions

The site shows a 48-hour trial plan for $0.60 and a subscription of $39.95 every four weeks, automatically renewable unless cancelled, which can be done at any time. The subscription gives access to all compression tools, unlimited conversions and compressions, premium access to the help center and 24/7 availability. Free users have a file size limit, while premium users can upload files without restrictions. The platform is available in over 20 languages and its interface is optimized for mobile devices.
