About Civic Center Park

Civic Center Park is a green pause surrounded by several buildings that define Denver’s civic centre: the State Capitol, the City and County Building, and the Denver Art Museum. Its fountains, statues, gardens and historic structures turn a short walk into a route through public architecture. The park is free to enter and open every day from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m.; scheduled events may have different admission arrangements.

Visitors often value the cityscape, gardens and cultural events, from public activities to concerts and community gatherings. The experience changes with the day and time: on a quiet morning the layout is easier to appreciate, while events draw more people and food vendors. Stalls and activities can involve extra spending even when park entry is free. The conservancy says there are currently no toilets inside the grounds, a useful detail when planning with children or for a longer visit.

The official address is 101 14th Ave, Denver, CO 80204. Civic Center Station and the free 16th Street MallRide are a short walk away, so a car is not necessary. The park is beside the Denver Art Museum: a practical combination is to walk through the grounds and visit the museum when a free-admission day lines up, such as October 13 or November 7, 2026. Check the events calendar and park notices before setting out; not every show or market is free, even though walking through the gardens and viewing the architecture costs nothing.

In brief

Free park with fountains, statues, gardens, civic architecture and public events; some events charge admission.
