About Dallas County Promise
Dallas County Promise is not an unrestricted scholarship for every county graduate: students must attend a participating high school and complete the program steps, as well as meet the partner college’s requirements. For the class of 2027, eligibility notices are expected in spring 2027. The program warns that admissions and financial-aid deadlines vary by partner; some colleges list January 15, 2027, for complete files, while others use later dates.
The core grant is last-dollar tuition aid: it is applied after federal, state, and institutional assistance and covers eligible tuition balances at a participating college. It does not itself pay fees, housing, meals, transportation, or every other attendance cost. Income caps and Pell or TEXAS Grant requirements depend on the selected college, so an eligibility notice for one campus does not automatically transfer to another.
The Path form is only the first step: students must also apply for admission, submit FAFSA or TASFA, complete the partner’s financial-aid file, and register for Fall 2027 within its calendar. Students who earn an associate degree in high school may have transfer pathways at certain universities, but they still must apply and meet transfer deadlines. Check the chosen campus’s requirements before committing, and keep confirmations for every form and registration.
