About Oliver W. Conner College Promise
Compton College’s Oliver W. Conner College Promise is open to students beginning college for the first time, including adults returning to school and part-time students. It may waive enrollment fees for up to 15 units per term for as many as two years. The college’s schedule includes recent graduates and other students who meet in-state-fee requirements; college credits earned while still in high school do not necessarily disqualify you.
The central benefit is enrollment fees, not the full cost of attendance or a stipend paid directly to the student. The program connects participants with guided pathways, campus supports, and help progressing toward a degree, certificate, or transfer. Before selecting units, ask Financial Aid whether your CCPG, other aid, or residency classification already covers the charge.
Apply to Compton College and contact the Promise Center at promise@compton.edu to confirm first-time status. Ask which participation form and dates apply to your term, then complete FAFSA, CADAA, or the California College Promise Grant application specified by the college. The office lists Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday hours until 4:30 p.m. and Wednesday hours until 6:30 p.m.; check for calendar changes.
The program page does not promise books, transportation, parking, or personal costs. Dates on a service page can become term-specific; the college’s current academic calendar should control. If you are AB 540 eligible or cannot use FAFSA, ask about CADAA and the applicable in-state fee classification before treating a balance as final.
