About Alternative Chiropractic

Chiropractic and rehabilitation on Clifton Avenue

Alternative Chiropractic is on the first floor at 1011 Clifton Avenue. Chiropractor Andreas Skounakis studied exercise science at the University of Rhode Island and graduated from the University of Bridgeport College of Chiropractic in 2001. His practice lists chiropractic, occupational and physical therapy, acupuncture, massage and sports-specific rehabilitation. These are different services, and availability should be discussed for the particular appointment.

From imaging to return to activity

The office explains that if imaging is required, patients can choose an imaging center; it says Skounakis discusses the radiologist’s findings with anatomical models. Imaging is not automatically necessary for every episode of pain. In its description of sports rehabilitation, the practice says it may coordinate a return to activity with an orthopedist, sports physician, athletic trainer or physical therapist as appropriate.

Several recent visitors describe a welcoming team and a practitioner who listens and explains. The value for a prospective patient is the opportunity to discuss findings and choices, not a guarantee that another person’s result will be repeated. Patients can ask which professional will provide the requested service and how it will be billed.

A split schedule and Saturday morning

The office lists Monday, Wednesday and Friday hours of 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 3 to 7:30 p.m., plus Saturday 9 a.m. to noon. It does not list Tuesday or Thursday office hours in its published contact schedule. The number is 973-779-2466 and the email is livepainfree@alternativechiroandrehab.com. The first-floor address helps identify the office within the building.
