About Cuyahoga Community College — Metropolitan Campus
Tri-C’s principal urban campus is at 2900 Community College Avenue in Cleveland’s Campus District, a short distance from downtown. The college identifies it as its first permanent campus: it opened in 1969, six years after classes began in a former downtown school building. The East 30th Street entrance connects the academic complex with routes toward I-77, I-71 and I-90.
The campus brings together fields that depend on in-person practice: nursing, emergency medical technology, dental hygiene, electronic engineering technology, health information and recording arts, alongside general education and transfer coursework. Its facilities include health-care labs, a nursing simulation center, a library and Learning Commons, counseling, financial aid, tutoring and a Transfer Center. Course availability changes by term; the catalog specifies which program sequences are selective and which require prior courses.
There is room for student life as well: Tri-C lists a gymnasium, outdoor track, pool and fitness center, along with an auditorium and theaters at the Gill and Tommy LiPuma Center for Creative Arts. Drivers can use designated student parking lots; the college map separates those from staff and visitor areas. Greater Cleveland RTA maps show bus connections on routes 11, 14 and 15 and the HealthLine corridor. Check the timetable for the day you plan to travel.
Admissions, counseling, placement testing, tutoring, financial aid, accessibility support, orientation and transfer planning are concentrated here. Ask which building handles your appointment: some technical training takes place at the Advanced Technology Training Center or Manufacturing Technology Center a few blocks away, while several culinary programs use their own Public Square site. That distinction helps students reach the right office as well as the classroom or lab where a course meets.
Tri-C’s original permanent campus puts health-care laboratories, engineering, recording arts and student services in Cleveland’s Campus District; the college also publishes student parking and nearby transit access.
