About Malcolm X College — Main Campus

Malcolm X College is at 1900 W Jackson Boulevard on the edge of the Illinois Medical District, west of downtown. Its current campus opened in 2016 and was planned around health-care education, with classrooms, laboratories and student services organized in a single urban complex. The college is a short walk from the Illinois Medical District station on CTA’s Blue Line, and its site has a large parking garage; confirm current parking terms and the building for your appointment before traveling.

The health focus is visible in the college’s interprofessional simulation center, a teaching environment built to let students practice clinical work before serving patients. Nursing, allied health, emergency medical services and other health pathways share space with general education and transfer options. Malcolm X also lists a fitness center, child-care services, a dental clinic and student support offices. Course admission can be selective in health programs, so a general district application is only the first step; check prerequisites, vaccinations or background requirements and cohort start dates with the department.

The West Side Learning Center at 4624 W Madison Street is a separate adult-education site associated with Malcolm X, not an interchangeable entrance to the main campus. The district lists it among locations for English and high-school-equivalency instruction. Learners should confirm the current class calendar and assigned location before setting out. For applicants interested in health careers, Malcolm X’s distinctive draw is a campus that puts clinical simulation at the center of training, paired with access to the wider City Colleges degree and certificate catalog.
