Wyoming Community Foundation Scholarships

The Wyoming Community Foundation does not offer one statewide scholarship with a single rule. Its directory groups funds by county and field, so an opportunity may depend on where a student lives, the high school attended, the planned major, or the college. For academic year 2027–28, the foundation says the portal opened October 1, 2026. Its information page lists more than 30 scholarships, about half a million dollars awarded annually, and fund-level awards ranging from $350

About Wyoming Community Foundation Scholarships

The Wyoming Community Foundation does not offer one statewide scholarship with a single rule. Its directory groups funds by county and field, so an opportunity may depend on where a student lives, the high school attended, the planned major, or the college. For academic year 2027–28, the foundation says the portal opened October 1, 2026. Its information page lists more than 30 scholarships, about half a million dollars awarded annually, and fund-level awards ranging from $350 to $8,000.

The published annual closing date is March 1; the foundation says it does not accept late applications and expects to notify applicants by May 5. An application may require the latest official transcript and a financial-need affidavit listing tuition, fees, books, transportation, and housing alongside available resources and other aid. Students should also know their Hathaway status. This is not a form to rush through at the last minute: the figures should match the college cost of attendance.

The portal can be filtered by county and academic field, with options ranging from nursing and agriculture to aviation and vocational training. Open each listing and record its eligible schools, GPA threshold, student stage, and documents. Then compare the directory with college scholarships and FAFSA: a community award may reduce a remaining balance, but it does not replace federal aid or guarantee a selection. The acceptance form has its own July 31 deadline and must be completed if an award is offered.

To estimate the real cost, ask the school for a written calculation separating tuition, fees, housing, and expenses the award does not cover. Confirm whether aid can renew and what academic progress it requires. Keep the award letter and verify when funds will be applied to the student account.
