Bunker Hill Community College — Chelsea Campus

Chelsea is a teaching campus with its own academic role, not simply an administrative annex to Charlestown. BHCC places biology laboratories and a range of degree and certificate courses here, along with allied-health training such as medical assistant, patient care technician, central processing, surgical technology, pharmacy technician, EMT and paramedic pathways. Program availability can change by term, and several health certificates have selective admission requirements or required information sessions.

The campus also houses adult education, including English for speakers of other languages and high-school-equivalency instruction, as well as the Enterprise Center for Entrepreneurship & Training. Opened in 2023, the center offers guidance and workshops for residents and small businesses in Chelsea, Everett and nearby communities, with support available in multiple languages. A student who is still developing academic English can ask about adult ESOL separately from credit-bearing courses; the two routes have different enrollment steps and do not automatically substitute for program prerequisites.

BHCC lists the campus at 70 Everett Avenue, Chelsea. MBTA buses stop nearby, and the college’s shuttle links Chelsea with Charlestown for students using both sites. Parking is limited to marked spaces and requires a valid permit. Check the current shuttle schedule, course section and building hours before setting out, particularly when an appointment or lab is tied to a particular health program.
