About Army War College Foundation Scholarship Program
The Army War College Foundation runs a college scholarship program limited to families connected with the U.S. Army War College community. It is not a general scholarship for children of any service member: eligibility depends on a parent’s relationship to the foundation or status as a distance-education graduate of the Army War College. One application automatically considers each applicant for compatible awards.
Applicants may be high-school seniors entering college in fall 2027 or undergraduates in their first three years, if they are children of a Foundation Lifetime member or an Army War College distance-education graduate. Prior scholarship recipients cannot apply again, and dependents of foundation staff or board members are excluded.
The 2027 section lists an application window from January 2 through March 1, 2027, closing at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time. Lower on the same page, however, an application instruction still gives a March 2026 submission date from the prior cycle. Because the page contains that discrepancy, confirm the 2027 calendar with the Foundation before relying on the cutoff and submit early. The page also says technical assistance ends at 4 p.m. ET on the final day and that late technical problems do not qualify for an extension.
Published awards range from $500 to $1,500; final amounts and number depend on applications and available funds. An impartial committee reviews submissions without applicant names. Four awards funded by distance-education cohorts are reserved for children of graduates of that program, even if the parent is not a foundation member; other funds require a parent’s lifetime membership. Gather school, service, work, and honors records from August 2023 onward as the form requests.
