Pool Designs: Custom Inground Pools in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania

Pool Designs is a family-owned company with more than four decades of experience dedicated to the design, construction, and maintenance of vinyl-lined inground pools. Its offerings are organized into three areas: design and construction, service and maintenance, and its own pool products store. The company presents itself as a full-service business that guides the customer from initial concept to final installation.

Origin and History

The company began operations in 1984, when Steve Morr founded his own business after years of working in the pool industry. His approach was not limited to building pools, but to establishing lasting relationships with customers, a principle the firm describes as the core of its family character. Chad Collins, with more than 35 years working alongside Morr, took over the leadership of the business in 2023, maintaining the original values and vision.

Design and Construction

Pool Designs builds custom inground pools in any size and shape. The company manages the entire process, from initial design to installation, and defines itself as a full-service business. Among the elements it creates are custom entries, steps, and benches, spas, decorative water features, and hardscapes such as paths, patios, and walls. The company states it uses high-quality materials that exceed industry standards in strength, durability, and safety, and incorporates equipment and automation systems for pool maintenance.

Service, Maintenance, and Store

The service and maintenance area includes chemical deliveries and maintenance options with one-time and ongoing service packages. The Pool Pro Shop store serves as a one-stop shop for water analysis, pool chemicals, pool equipment, liners, replacement parts, cleaning tools, automatic robots, and outdoor furniture. The store's catalog indicated the upcoming arrival of the 2026 Merlin Liner brochure.

Most Requested Projects

The company highlights four types of projects: new construction, refurbishments, liner replacements, and water features. The firm works with Fluidra products and offers warranty coverage for this brand.

Team and Certifications

The team is led by Chad Collins as president, with more than 30 years at the company; Ethan Collins as general manager, with more than ten years at the firm; Tim Cook as service manager, also with more than a decade of tenure; and Money Penny in customer relations. The company notes that its employees have training in Zodiac Academy Technical Training, covering heaters, pumps, and Jandy automation systems, automatic covers, and Fluidra warranty work, as well as Natural Chemistry Pro Training, in basic water chemistry and specialized solutions.

Service Approach

Pool Designs presents itself as a family business that handles each project in a personalized way, with direct interaction and no automated customer service systems. The company states that its specialty is enhancing the functionality and aesthetics of the customer's outdoor space through easy-to-maintain inground pools tailored to each lifestyle.
