Royal Gorge Epic Adventures: Lodging and Adventure in the Arkansas Canyon

Royal Gorge Epic Adventures is a tour operator based in Cañon City, Colorado, that integrates lodging and adventure activities in the Royal Gorge region. The company presents itself as a one-stop hub for planning a vacation in the area, with its own services ranging from whitewater rafting to lodging and dining. According to its own account, it has been operating since 2004, welcoming visitors to the canyon.

Adventure Activities

The activity lineup includes whitewater rafting, zipline tours, and helicopter flights to see the canyon from the air. The company describes its rafting offering as world-class and its ziplines as Colorado's #1 rated, claims that come from its own marketing presentation. Rafting trips and ziplines are led by experienced guides.

Lodging: Cabins, Yurts, and Airstreams

The lodging offering is spread across several options: luxury homes, luxury cabins accommodating groups of up to twenty people, yurts along the Arkansas River, premium Airstreams, and tiny homes. The company sells packages that combine a two-night stay with a rafting or zipline activity, with starting prices listed on its website for groups of four: $1,400 for the Airstream package, $1,200 for the yurt, $1,400 for the tiny home, and $1,900 for the luxury home. These rates are shown as reference points from the catalog published at the time of analysis.

Dining and Social Life

The group operates Whitewater Bar & Grill, a spot to eat after activities, and Whitewater Rooftop Social, a cocktail space with mountain views. Both are part of the leisure offering the company provides to those who stay or book its activities.

Integrated Brands

Under the Royal Gorge Epic Adventures umbrella, several specialized brands operate: Royal Gorge Rafting, Royal Gorge Zipline Tours, Royal Gorge Vacation Rentals, Royal Gorge Heli Tours, Whitewater Bar & Grill, and Whitewater Rooftop Social. The company notes that all activities advertised on its website are operated directly by it, which allows it to maintain the same standard of quality and service across every offering.

Group Trip Planning

The company offers an online trip planner to select activities and lodging based on the group's characteristics, and it has staff available to answer questions and help put together the right package. It also organizes services for groups. Its headquarters is presented as a single point from which to access the area's main attractions, with the goal of reducing travel during the stay.

Environmental Commitment

Royal Gorge Epic Adventures states that it maintains low-environmental-impact practices in its outdoor activities, with measures such as the use of solar power, waterless restrooms, and limiting plastic use.
