About Oxnard College Regional Fire Academy — Camarillo
Oxnard College’s Regional Fire Academy operates at 104 Durley Avenue beside Camarillo Airport, separate from the main college campus. The site is purpose-built for hands-on public-safety training and serves candidates preparing for firefighting and emergency-response work across the region. It is part of the college’s Public Safety Division, not a general-purpose campus for walk-in enrollment.
The division lists Firefighter I and II academies, Wildland Academy, Lifeguard Academy, EMT coursework and an associate degree in Fire Technology. Academy cohorts and state testing have separate application steps, physical or course prerequisites and dates. Check the current schedule before planning, because a short certification course and a full academy are different commitments.
Tuition depends on the course. The academy’s current state testing schedule lists separate exam fees, while credit classes follow district unit rates and specialized programs may add material or certification costs. Financial aid eligibility differs by course; contact the academy and Oxnard Financial Aid before assuming a short training or exam is aid-eligible.
Training includes practical exercises, instruction from experienced public-safety faculty and preparation aligned with California State Fire Training. The academy site publishes its contact staff, registration instructions and examination procedures. The address is near the airport, not the 4000 South Rose Avenue main campus, so enter Durley Avenue as the destination.
Candidates can start with Oxnard Public Safety Training and check the current Fire Academy calendar and application instructions.
Regional academy for firefighter, EMT, lifeguard and public-safety training.
