About Glackin Physiotherapy, LLC

Sports and orthopedic physical therapy in Brookhaven, Atlanta

Glackin Physiotherapy, LLC is a physical therapy clinic based in Brookhaven, in the metropolitan Atlanta area (Georgia). Its care model is concierge-style: individual, personalized sessions, with a data-driven approach and patient education. The clinic treats all types of orthopedic conditions, including those of the spine, shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand, hip, knee, and ankle or foot.

Specialties: runners and soccer players

The clinic has developed two prominent areas of specialization. In the area of running-related injuries, it offers comprehensive evaluations and physical therapy treatment plans. Among the injuries treated are Achilles tendinopathy, patellar tendinopathy (jumper's knee), patellofemoral pain syndrome (runner's knee), medial tibial stress syndrome (shin splints), ankle sprains, hip flexor strain or tendinopathy, proximal hamstring tendinopathy, and bone stress injuries.

In the area of soccer, the clinic's physical therapists, themselves regular players, address return to play after injury and the transition between traditional rehabilitation and on-field performance. They treat hamstring, quadriceps, adductor, and calf strains; MCL and ACL tears and reconstructions, with rehabilitation and return to sport; meniscal tears; patellofemoral pain syndrome; ankle sprains, including high, lateral, and medial sprains; Achilles tendinopathy and reconstruction; and lower back, disc, and nerve injuries.

Sports physical therapy for all types of athletes

In addition to the above specialties, the clinic treats athletes from any discipline, from professional and semi-professional to weekend warriors or occasional golfers. The team combines knowledge of anatomy, healing processes, return to sport, and strength and conditioning training to maximize return to activity. Both lead physical therapists have more than ten years of experience.

Professional team

Dr. Annie Neurohr (Glackin), DPT, OCS, CMTPT, is a physical therapist, board-certified orthopedic clinical specialist, and certified running gait analyst, with more than ten years of experience in orthopedic and sports medicine rehabilitation. Before moving to Atlanta, she founded and directed the Sinai Running Rehabilitation Program in Baltimore, where she worked with runners and athletes to identify movement impairments, improve efficiency, and guide injury recovery and performance optimization. During her time at Sinai, she developed a special interest in limb differences and deficiencies, expanding the program to serve people with congenital and traumatic bone conditions. She is co-founder of Finish Line Seminars, a continuing education company for rehabilitation professionals in the evaluation and treatment of endurance athletes, and has taught nationally and internationally on lower extremity biomechanics, running-related injuries, and evidence-based treatment strategies. Her research interests and publications include the etiology and treatment of knee pain in runners, as well as the development and prevention of bone stress injuries. As a runner, she has completed six marathons, including the 2018 Boston Marathon.

Dr. Brendan Glackin, DPT, OCS, CMTPT, CSCS, is an orthopedic physical therapist with more than ten years of experience and board certification in orthopedics from the American Physical Therapy Association. He founded Glackin Physiotherapy a year after obtaining his doctorate in physical therapy, with the goal of providing high-quality conservative care. He has treated thousands of patients with various injuries, combining listening to the patient's conditions and goals, reducing system irritability through physical therapy techniques, and progressive loading of the system with knowledge of healing processes. He has a special interest in sports injuries of the spine (neck, mid and lower back), shoulders, and all lower extremity injuries (hip, knee, ankle). He is also a high school soccer coach in Roswell, GA, and continues to play at Silverbacks Park in Atlanta.

Care process

The clinic structures the patient journey in three phases. It begins with a complimentary 15-minute discovery call to assess the case and determine whether physical therapy is appropriate or refer to another professional if it is not. Then an initial one-hour evaluation is performed, with a detailed history and comprehensive assessment, in which possible contributing factors are explained and demonstrated and a treatment plan is started. Follow-up visits, lasting 45 to 55 minutes, consist of individualized care, hands-on treatment, and guided programming to implement the plan.

Conditions treated

The clinic addresses temporomandibular joint (TMJ) pain, neck, shoulder, chest, back, pelvic floor, hip, knee, and ankle pain, in addition to the sports and orthopedic injuries already mentioned. It also offers additional services and plyometric rehabilitation.
