About University of Colorado Boulder Scholarship Application 2027–28
CU Boulder’s central scholarship application for fall 2027 and spring 2028 opens December 1, 2026. The university uses it to match students with institutional and community opportunities; the general form does not replace special requirements for individual funds. The portal provides routes for first-year, transfer, current, and graduate students, so choosing the right applicant category matters.
Students seeking financial aid for the academic year should also submit the 2027–28 FAFSA. The university says prospective students gain access to its scholarship application after applying for admission; the portal generally becomes available a few days later. Applicants do not need to wait for an admission decision to seek aid, but the admissions application starts access to some opportunities.
The general scholarship deadline is March 15, 2027, although some awards may close as early as February 15. CU recommends submitting FAFSA and the application early to be considered for more opportunities; need-based awards require FAFSA before their deadline. Current students must reapply each year and maintain satisfactory academic progress for renewable scholarships.
Selection may consider academic achievement, honors, leadership, activities, and community service. Some applications require essays or recommendations and have separate deadlines, so check each award in the portal. New students generally receive notices in April and continuing students in May under the standard timeline. Compare any offer with tuition, housing, fees, and transportation before estimating net cost.
