About Roxbury Community College — Main Campus
Roxbury Community College’s main campus brings a wide mix of study and student-life facilities together on a 16-acre site at 1234 Columbus Avenue. RCC describes classrooms, specialized science and computer labs, a library and Learning Center, a student center, food service, study and activity areas, music, dance and art studios, and the Reggie Lewis Track and Athletic Center. The athletic building and its event schedule are a visible part of campus life; the college also operates a theater seating more than 450 people.
RCC lists 24 associate-degree programs and eight credit-bearing certificate programs. Its current catalogue spans arts and humanities, music and theatre, biology and biotechnology, business, information systems, engineering, early childhood education, health careers, radiologic technology and nursing, among other fields. Program plans differ: an associate degree commonly requires a multi-semester sequence, while certificates have their own credit totals and can be shorter. Nursing, radiologic technology and other specialized tracks may have prerequisites or selective entry. Use the current catalogue and speak with an advisor before estimating a finish date or transfer pathway.
The campus is directly across from the Orange Line’s Roxbury Crossing station; MBTA buses 22, 23, 28, 29 and 66 stop on nearby corridors. RCC says visitors may use non-employee spaces in Lots 1 and 2, with Cedar Street lot access also identified on its directions page. Massachusetts residents who qualify for MassEducate, MassReconnect or Boston’s local tuition-free program may have tuition and fees covered, but eligibility, FAFSA or MASFA steps and minimum credit requirements apply. Community ESOL offers seven levels from beginner to advanced and a free placement assessment; it is a separate adult-learning route, not an automatic substitute for credit-course placement.
RCC’s 16-acre campus sits across from the Orange Line’s Roxbury Crossing station and combines academic programs, a major athletic center, labs, arts spaces and visitor parking.
