About Bunker Hill Community College — Charlestown Campus

Charlestown is Bunker Hill Community College’s main campus and the natural place to begin when a student needs to meet an advisor, sort out financial aid or compare several programs in person. Student Central, Admissions and Recruitment, Academic Advising, the Assessment Center and the Financial Aid office are based here. The campus map also marks the library and Learning Center, tutoring, Language Lab, Career Services, health services, a student food pantry, a café, fitness facilities and a gymnasium.

The academic catalogue spans associate degrees and certificates in areas that include health, business, liberal arts, science, technology and workforce education. Some health and technical programs have selective admission, prerequisites or a separate application cycle, so general acceptance to BHCC is not the same as a guaranteed place in every major. The main campus is also the registration point for BELL English classes and the seven-week Intensive English program; students seeking degree credit can ask about Academic English Language Learning, whose courses carry six credits and can count toward general education requirements.

The address is 250 New Rutherford Avenue. The Orange Line’s Community College station is steps from the campus entrance, and BHCC runs a shuttle to its Chelsea location. Parking is available in designated campus lots under college rules; rideshare pickups are assigned to Lot 7 rather than the building entrances. The college began in 1973 and now reports more than 100 academic programs across its two campuses and instructional sites. Check the current class schedule and building map before travelling: a program office, class and service appointment may be in different buildings.

In brief

BHCC’s main campus sits at the Orange Line’s Community College station, with admissions, financial aid, tutoring, a fitness center, library and its broadest range of academic services.
