College of Western Idaho — Ada County Center, Mallard Building

Mallard is CWI’s Boise location for Adult Education. The college offers English Language Learner classes for adults at beginning and advancing levels, along with GED preparation, reading, writing, mathematics and digital skills. The stated purpose is practical: strengthen communication for everyday life and work, then help learners prepare for further study or career training.

The adult English and GED classes are free for eligible adults age 16 and older who are not enrolled in public school. CWI requires proof of an eligible citizenship or immigration category before enrollment and says its English learner program does not meet F-1 visa requirements. Start by booking an intake appointment; staff assess the learner’s needs and explain current class placement and dates.

Mallard is at 9100 W. Black Eagle Drive in the Ada County Center. CWI lists weekday daytime and evening hours, but class calendars can change by term. Parking at CWI campuses is free. The Boise center is expected to move to the new downtown Micron Academic Center in Fall 2027, so check the college’s current English-class page before choosing a location.
