About Bakersfield College — Weill Institute (Downtown)
At 21st Street and Chester Avenue, the Weill Institute brings selected Bakersfield College instruction into downtown. The two-story building contains classrooms, laboratories, meeting rooms and offices, and also hosts Kern Community College District offices. Its role is more focused than Panorama’s: BC identifies EMT, Fire Technology, and Business Skills & Entrepreneurship among the classes taught here in daytime and evening schedules.
The Weill is also home to Launchpad, the college’s resource for entrepreneurs and small-business owners. BC describes free workshops and classes, a computer lab with staff support, Wi-Fi and a workspace for people developing a business idea. That combination means the building serves both students in scheduled courses and community members using entrepreneurship support; check the Launchpad calendar before planning a visit.
The official page places the entrance on Chester Avenue and a parking lot off L Street. Course schedules vary, and not every college service is available at this downtown location. Call 661-395-4104 or check the current class schedule to confirm that your course, appointment or Launchpad session is held here.
Classrooms, labs and EMT, fire-technology and business courses; also home to the Launchpad.
