Bakersfield College — BC Southwest Center

BC Southwest is Bakersfield College’s dedicated center in the southwest of the city, at 9400 Camino Media beside the southwest corner of the CSU Bakersfield campus. The college opened the three-story facility in January 2022 after holding classes in other southwest locations. It has more than 30 classrooms, computer and science labs, a student lounge and study areas, faculty offices and on-site student services.

The center offers general education and transfer requirements and lists substantial program coverage in administration of justice, business administration, communication, early-childhood education, teacher education, public health science, psychology, sociology, veterinary technician and related fields. Its student-services suite houses advising and financial aid; the same location has tutoring and writing support, a library and bookstore-order pickup. Check the current schedule, since the full class list published on the location page is from a past term.

BC Southwest is designed for students who want a local study base without driving to Panorama for every class or support visit. Advising, tutoring, library and writing-center hours are published separately and can change. The college lists the center at 9400 Camino Media and answers site questions at 661-541-1500; call to confirm which program classes and services are available on the day you plan to go.
