Brightening Bins

Brightening Bins: Residential Trash Bin Cleaning in Metro Atlanta

Brightening Bins is a family-owned company based in Georgia that provides residential trash bin cleaning services in Metro Atlanta. It was founded in 2019 by Lane and Madelyn Blackwell, who describe it as part of a group of trash can cleaning brands present in several states, managed with the close personal touch of a local, family-owned business. The company states it has cleaned more than 100,000 bins.

A Service Designed for Bin Hygiene and Odor

The company explains that regular cleaning of residential bins is necessary to maintain hygiene and prevent problems associated with dirt: bacteria, mold, pests, and unpleasant odors. Its service is aimed at homeowners in the Metro Atlanta area and seeks to ensure bins are clean, disinfected, and odor-free before pickup day.

Cleaning Method: Water Over 200°F and 360° Cleaning Heads

The process combines pressurized water heated to over 200°F with a powerful disinfectant and 360° cleaning heads that travel through the interior of each bin. According to the company, this system removes dirt, debris, and bacteria from every corner. After cleaning and disinfecting, it applies a deodorizer to eliminate lingering odors and returns the bins to the location specified by the customer. The company notes that it uses biodegradable cleaning agents and that this method reduces water waste compared to other forms of cleaning, while also preventing harmful chemicals from reaching waterways.

How the Service Works

The customer signs up online and chooses the service frequency. The company confirms the service days. The day before the visit, it sends a text message to remind the customer to pull out the bins and ensure they are empty. When the team is on the way to the home, it notifies via text message that service is starting; upon completion, it sends another notification to confirm that cleaning has finished.

Plans and Prices Listed on the Site

The catalog published on the site shows three options, with a starting price that covers up to two bins and a $10 charge for each additional bin:

• Monthly: starting at $30.00.
• Quarterly: starting at $45.00.
• One-Time: starting at $75.00.

Family Origins and Local Focus

Lane and Madelyn Blackwell explain that the company was born from an everyday need: a household with four dogs and, starting in 2024, two young daughters, where pet waste and diapers made trash bins accumulate odor quickly. That experience led them to offer a deep cleaning and disinfection service instead of a simple rinse. The company presents itself as a family-owned business serving neighbors in various areas of Metro Atlanta.
