About Ohio University Continuing Student Scholarships
Ohio University maintains separate scholarships for incoming students, transfers, and students already enrolled. For 2027–28, the online Continuing Student Scholarship Application opens November 1, 2026, with a first-priority deadline of February 1, 2027. Students must reapply each year, even if they already receive a university scholarship.
The continuing-student application also serves as the application for the Dean’s Scholarship, available to sophomores, juniors, and seniors, and can trigger consideration for other university awards. Schools and departments may have additional funds, so speaking with an academic adviser remains part of the process. Most awards require satisfactory progress and enrollment; the university says students generally need at least 15 credits per semester.
Ohio University lists January 15, 2027, as the priority date for FAFSA results to reach the institution because some scholarships consider financial need. FAFSA does not replace the scholarship application; they are complementary steps. Save the FAFSA confirmation, verify that the school received the results, and then check the financial portal for the separate scholarship form and missing documents.
The university’s calendar says scholarship decisions for continuing students are announced in April. Before relying on an award to finalize enrollment, compare the full-year net price with fees, books, transportation, and housing, and check whether the scholarship renews or depends on financial need. New transfers follow a different process and deadline; this guide focuses on students already enrolled at OHIO.
