Americamps RV Resort & Cottages is a campground in the Streamside RV Resorts & Campgrounds network. It is located in Ashland, Virginia, north of Richmond, and operates year-round. The resort distinguishes between short-term and monthly stays. It has pull-through sites (suitable for large vehicles) and back-in sites, both with full hookups. It also has six fully equipped two-bedroom cottages, with porches and everyday comforts, available for a minimum stay of two nights.

Amenities and Facilities

Community facilities include a seasonal pool, a fitness center, a fenced dog park, a playground, a pickleball court, a basketball court, lawn games, a clubhouse, and a rally room. There is also an on-site store, laundry area, dump station, propane fill station, and WiFi and cable TV. Sites have full hookups and the campground accommodates RVs of all sizes.

Stay and Reservation Policies

Check-in for RV sites is at 1:00 PM and check-out is at 11:00 AM; for cottages, check-in is at 2:00 PM and check-out is at 11:00 AM. Reservations include up to six people per site. Holiday weekends require a three-night minimum stay for sites, and cottages require a two-night minimum at any time. Visitors are allowed but must register at the office and obtain a vehicle tag; no day passes are offered to non-registered individuals. Assignment of a specific site or cottage is not guaranteed unless a site lock fee is paid.

Pet Policy

Up to two pets per site are allowed, both at RV sites and in designated pet-friendly cottages, with a flat $35 fee for cottages. Pets are not allowed in swimming areas, playgrounds, restrooms, or other buildings.

Surroundings and Activities

The campground presents itself as a base for exploring central Virginia. The location, next to Interstate 95, provides easy access to shops and travel. Seasonal activities are organized on-site that bring guests together, such as holiday weekend events, and a guide to local things to do is offered. Pool rules include supervision requirements for children under 16, no lifeguard on duty, proper swimwear required, and no pets, food, glass, or gum in the pool area.

Access and Arrival

Access to the resort is from Air Park Road and requires a key card issued at check-in. For after-hours arrivals, there is a late check-in box to the right of the office entrance with an envelope in the guest's name containing site details. After-hours emergencies are handled by calling the office phone and dialing the corresponding extension.
