Old Town Farmers’ Market
Alexandria’s historic Saturday market, temporarily set in Tavern Square during City Hall renovation.
About Old Town Farmers’ Market
While City Hall and Market Square are renovated, the city places this long-running Saturday market in the 100 block of North Royal Street and the courtyard at Tavern Square. It remains open 7 a.m.–noon year-round. At peak season, more than 70 vendors sell produce, meat, poultry, cheese, breads, pastries, fresh pasta, pickles, cut flowers, plants, soap, jewelry and art. The current layout is different from the historic square, so follow the city’s temporary-location map.
City-listed parking is free during market hours at the Tavern Square garage, 418 Cameron Street, and Courthouse Square garage, 111 South Pitt Street; the second garage runs until 12:30 p.m. The trolley connects the Metro station with City Hall, and DASH routes 30, 31 and 34 are listed for the market. More than 30 vendors accept SNAP, with Double Dollars matching up to $20. Pets are not permitted within the market boundaries.
Year-round Saturday market with 70-plus peak-season vendors, farm produce, meat, dairy, bakery, prepared food, flowers and crafts; free garage parking and SNAP Double Dollars are listed by the city.
