About Harvest Hosts
Harvest Hosts: overnight stays at farms, wineries, and breweries across North America
Harvest Hosts is an RV camping membership that allows users to stay overnight at no camping fees at a network of small local businesses. The offering is built around more than 9,500 Hosts across 49 US states and 10 Canadian provinces, according to the platform's own data. The company presents itself as an alternative to traditional campgrounds, with stays focused on unique experiences and supporting local businesses.
How the membership works
Harvest Hosts' model replaces nightly camping fees with a purchase or consumption at the Host business. Members find and book stays through an interactive map, request the night in a few steps, and during their visit support the Host by buying wine, farm products, beer, gifts, or experiences. The company states that it does not charge a commission on what the member spends or donates to the Host: one hundred percent stays with the local business. Every Host is a real, vetted business, and its profile includes photos and reviews from other members.
Plans and pricing
The platform offers several annual plans, billed for 365 days from the date of sign-up and renewable on the same date. All include a 90-day guarantee, access to dump stations, and $5,000 in RVing discounts.
- Harvest Hosts All Access: $152.15 per year (regular price $179.00). Includes access to the Host network, the Boondockers Welcome community, golf courses, Campground Partners, and Escapees RV Club membership, valued at $49.95.
- Harvest Hosts + Boondockers Welcome: $143.65 per year (regular price $169.00). Combines small business and private property Hosts.
- Harvest Hosts Classic: $84.15 per year (regular price $99.00). Access to unique small business Hosts and Campground Partners.
The company notes that the cost typically equals three or four nights at a campground on the All Access plan, three on the combined plan, and two on Classic. There is also the option to gift the membership and a community-only alternative, Boondockers Welcome.
Types of Hosts and experiences
The network includes farms, wineries, breweries, distilleries, attractions, museums, golf courses, and other small businesses. The stay may include a wine tasting, meeting farm animals, a local beer, or simply a night in a beautiful setting. Many Hosts greet travelers in person and invite them to explore the property. The platform emphasizes that every stay is different and that each Host profile details the setting and type of parking surface, with photos and reviews from other members.
Stay conditions and vehicles
The membership provides access to unlimited overnight stays with no camping fees. Most stops are for one night, though many Hosts allow additional nights up to a maximum of four. You can filter for Hosts that allow extended stays. As for vehicles, all self-contained RVs are welcome: Class A, B, and C motorhomes, fifth wheels, travel trailers, toy haulers, camper vans, truck campers, pop-ups, schoolies, and the car you tow behind. Expandable, clamshell, and teardrop trailers fit right in too. The requirement is that the vehicle is fully self-contained, with an interior toilet and waste tanks on board. Many Hosts accept generators and others offer electric or water hookups for a small fee, filterable in the search.
Booking, tools, and policies
Booking is done through Harvest Hosts' map and trip planning tools, which allow you to search by Host type, route, location, dates, hookups, extra nights, or same-day stays, and plan stops between two points. Many Hosts open availability 90 to 180 days in advance and accept same-day bookings. Stays are for one location per night. If plans change, you are asked to notify the Host at least 24 hours in advance; repeated late cancellations or no-shows may affect your membership. Pets are welcome at 95% of Hosts, with leash or restricted area guidelines in each profile. The company reminds members that their vehicle must be insured and that Hosts are not responsible for damage, theft, or injury.
Benefits for members and Hosts
The membership includes discounts at more than 1,000 Campground Partners through the Campground Partners program, plus perks on camping memberships, RV gear, and other products, valued at over $5,000. For Hosts, the program costs nothing: they earn through member spending and keep all of what is spent or donated. The company sums it up as a relationship in which the traveler discovers unique places and the local business gains new customers and visibility.
Mobile app and brand ecosystem
Members can access the virtual map of all locations, Host information, and reviews through the Harvest Hosts mobile app. The company also integrates other brands and services: Boondockers Welcome, for stays on private property; Escapees RV Club, with events, discounts, services, and education for RVers; CampScanner, to find sold-out reservations at more than 9,600 campgrounds, national parks, and state parks; and Brit Stops, aimed at motorhome tourists.
