Driving School and Instructor Training in Yorkshire

Xpert Driver Training Ltd is a driver training company operating in Yorkshire. The company was formed in 2017, after Mick rebranded his old driving school following a business expansion. Its activity is divided between driving lessons for learners and training new instructors.

Lessons for Learners

The driving school offers manual and automatic driving lessons, with a personalised approach tailored to each student's needs. The offering covers very different profiles: complete beginners, learners switching instructors, test rescue lessons after a failed test, nervous drivers or those with special educational needs, refresher lessons after time away from driving, and motorway confidence sessions.

Lessons include the use of the Total Drive management app, which allows students to view lesson history, progress reports, and instructor feedback. The company also offers flexible scheduling to accommodate students, shift workers, or people with full weekly schedules.

Coverage Areas

Xpert Driver Training Ltd operates in York, Hull, Selby, Wakefield, Goole, and Howden. Transmission availability varies by location: in York, both manual and automatic lessons are offered, while in Selby, Howden, Goole, Wakefield, and Hull, lessons are manual.

Instructor Training

In addition to teaching learners, the company trains future driving instructors. Mick Knowles, the company's lead, has been working in the industry since 2011 and holds ORDIT accreditation, which requires additional training and testing to deliver instructor training. He is also co-founder of Knowledgeablee Instructor Training Ltd.

Team and Registration

The team consists of highly qualified male and female instructors approved by the DVSA. The company maintains a waiting list for new students: those interested can fill out the form available on the website, and the centre will contact them when a slot becomes available.
