HD Tribe Ltd

HD Tribe, independent funeral directors in West Sussex

HD Tribe Ltd is an independent, family-run funeral business operating several branches across Sussex. Established in 1929, it presents itself as a firm with a well-established reputation for providing a caring and dignified service to the people of West Sussex. Its head office is in Worthing and it maintains offices in other local towns.

Comprehensive funeral services

The company approaches its work as a complete service "under one roof", so that families can deal with most of the arrangements and decisions involved in a funeral in one place. Among the services it details are:

• Funeral advice and arrangement, including guidance on the necessary formalities after a death.
• Information and assistance with death registration, the will, benefits, insurance policies and the coroner procedure.
• Cremation service and funeral costs.
• Funeral flowers, in collaboration with Findon Flowers.
• Funeral catering: their own caterers travel to the home or the ceremony venue and prepare everything for the return from the funeral.
• Memorials and headstones, with their own team of stonemasons.
• Burials at sea, with handling of paperwork, licences and boat hire.
• Green burials, with processing of permits and organisation.
• Funeral poetry.
• Pre-paid funeral plans, with no-obligation advice.
• Free bereavement counselling service.
• Publication of funeral notices and announcements on their website, with the option to include a tribute, funeral details and donation requests.
• Donations and Gift Aid donations.

Chapels and places of reflection

HD Tribe has private chapels of rest at several of its offices, in Broadwater, Lancing, Storrington and Rustington, for private prayer and visits by family and friends. It also has two multi-denominational service chapels in Worthing and Shoreham, which allow funerals to be held when the crematorium or other local chapels are unavailable or not suitable. These facilities include modern amenities, including the ability to provide web links for relatives who cannot attend in person. The company also offers webcasts of services from Broadwater and Shoreham.

Coverage and local presence

The firm maintains offices in Worthing, Shoreham, Storrington, Sompting, Rustington, Littlehampton, Lancing and Goring. Its head office is in Worthing. The company's phones are answered 24 hours a day, seven days a week. HD Tribe presents itself as one of the 39 European members of Selected Independent Funeral Homes.
