AlphApex: Ice Baths and Saunas for Recovery

AlphApex is a specialist retailer of physical recovery solutions, selling ice baths, saunas, and related items. Its catalogue is organised around several product families: ice baths, indoor saunas, outdoor saunas, bundle packs, and a specific line for businesses and commercial use. The company presents itself as a project born from a personal passion for the sauna and cold plunge experience, following a trip to Iceland by its founder, Gabriel Humphries.

Ice Baths and the PolarX Range

The ice bath catalogue includes the PolarX range, with models such as PolarX Arctic White, PolarX Arctic White 2, PolarX Black Ice, and PolarX Dark Frost. The company also distinguishes between portable ice baths, designed for travel, and premium ice baths aimed at those looking to invest in health and longevity. According to the shop's information, the units incorporate a built-in chiller system that allows temperatures to be selected from 3 degrees up to 40 degrees, so the same unit can cool or heat the water. The chiller's noise level is stated at 52 dB(A), comparable to a refrigerator running.

Indoor and Outdoor Saunas

The sauna range is divided between indoor and outdoor models, with barrel options and configurations for different group sizes. The company notes that capacities can be chosen from one or two people up to five or six. Among the woods available for the saunas, it mentions Red Cedar, Thermo Hemlock, Hemlock, Thermo Pine, Pine, Hinoki, and Japanese Cedar. Assembly is described as straightforward, with detailed instructions provided with the product, and the company highlights a design with a built-in chiller system that avoids installing a bulky unit in the garden.

Bundles, Commercial Use, and Purchase Terms

In addition to individual products, AlphApex offers bundles combining a sauna and an ice bath, presented as the way to take advantage of contrast therapy between heat and cold. There is a specific section for businesses and commercial use. The shop states free shipping on all orders, both for saunas and ice baths, and the option to split payment over three months with Klarna. It accepts, among other methods, American Express, Google Pay, Mastercard, PayPal, and Visa. Saunas are delivered for assembly at the chosen location, while ice baths arrive already made, ready to fill and use. The company recommends changing the water in the ice bath approximately every two weeks, depending on frequency of use and continued use of the chiller and filtration system.

Benefits the Company Attributes to Its Products

AlphApex lists a series of effects associated with regular use of saunas and ice baths: improved cardiovascular health through increased heart rate and circulation, support for muscle recovery and athletic performance through contrast therapy, stress relief and relaxation, and improved sleep quality. These are claims included in the company's own commercial presentation.

Founding and Activity

The company was created by Gabriel Humphries, who explains that the project arose after a trip to Iceland and several years of designing ice baths and saunas. AlphApex operates from the United Kingdom and serves both individuals and businesses looking to incorporate recovery equipment.
