North West Door Stripping

Professional door and furniture stripping in Warrington

North West Door Stripping is a company based in Warrington (United Kingdom) dedicated to the removal of paint and varnish from doors, furniture and joinery items. Its work focuses on restoring wood and metal to their original appearance through a stripping process that combines chemical dipping, pressure washing, neutralisation, drying and hand sanding.

The company presents itself as a low-cost, high-quality option, and states that it keeps prices competitive and handles customers' property with care during handling, treatment and transport. It offers free collection and delivery for orders over £250.

The stripping process step by step

The working method described by the company consists of five stages:

• Dipping and re-dipping: the item is dipped in a caustic solution to remove several layers of paint and finish; if necessary, the process is repeated until all paint is removed.
• High-pressure washing: after stripping, doors are washed with hot water under pressure to leave the wood clean.
• Neutralisation: the item is neutralised to remove any remaining chemicals.
• Drying and sanding: the item is dried in a room with a dehumidifier to prevent warping and then hand-sanded to smooth the wood and remove silicone, glue, fillers or hardened paint from corners and mouldings.
• Revealing natural beauty: the process uncovers the natural grain and colour of the wood, often hidden under layers of paint.
