Coteca: training and certification for the construction industry in the UK

Coteca is a UK-based training centre that prepares construction professionals to obtain the qualifications and professional cards required in the country. Its catalogue ranges from NVQ courses at various levels to CPCS and NPORS plant training, as well as CSCS cards and CITB health and safety tests. NVQ courses by level and trade

The plant training section includes a wide range of CPCS courses identified by their code, including tower crane (A04), telescopic handler (A17), 360 excavator (A59), forward tipping dumper (A09), ride on roller (A31), lorry loader (A77), slinger signaller (A40), crane supervisor (A62) and mobile cranes (A60), among others. The NPORS offering covers similar categories, such as 360 excavator, 180 excavator, industrial telescopic handler, forward tipping dumper, agricultural tractor, mobile crane, slinger signaller, vehicle marshal, lorry loader, crane/lift supervisor, crusher, abrasive wheels and manual handling.

CSCS cards and CITB tests

The company processes the main types of CSCS card: red provisional, green labourer, blue skilled worker, gold skilled worker and supervisors, black managers, red experienced worker, as well as cards for academically qualified persons, professionally qualified persons, apprentices and trainees. It also offers preparation and booking for the CITB HS&E Test in its variants for operatives, for managers and professionals, and for specialists.

Health and safety courses

Within the health and safety area, Coteca delivers the SMSTS course and its refresher version, the SSSTS and its refresher, and the health and safety awareness course, as well as the level 1 award in health and safety in a construction environment.
