Cabbiez, badge holders and accessories for London taxi drivers

Cabbiez is an online shop specialising in products for taxi drivers, in particular badge holders for professional badges. Its catalogue is aimed at London taxi licence holders, both green and yellow badge holders, and also at tour guides who need to carry their credential.

Taxi badge holders

The core product is the Cabbiez badge holder, designed to house the driver's badge without any need to modify the badge. Assembly is done by unscrewing the back plate with the magnetised screwdriver supplied, placing the badge inside and reattaching the cover with the screws. The company warns that older badges that still have the pin on the back are not compatible with this holder, whereas on more recent ones the pin is attached and can be easily removed.

The firm distinguishes two sizes according to the badge number: models for numbers from 81*** upwards and those for lower numbers. The buyer must state that reference when placing the order to receive the correct size.

Models and finishes

The badge holder range is offered in six colours, including black, chrome, gold and green. They are made from lightweight CNC-machined aluminium with precise tolerances and an anodised finish, which the company presents as resistant and durable. Each unit is supplied in a faux-leather style presentation box, a format the shop itself describes as suitable for gifting. The firm states that each badge holder includes a spare screw set and that it has many of the parts supplied with the holders available to purchase separately.

Tour guide badge holder

The Cabbiez Tour Guide Badge Holder model is a 2-in-1 solution that allows the taxi badge and the tour guide badge to be displayed at the same time. According to the shop's information, this version is only compatible with taxi badges numbered below 81***, as at the time of its design two sizes were not offered due to lack of demand. The company indicated at the time its intention to add an option for the more recent badge format in the future.

Complementary accessories

Alongside the badge holders, the catalogue includes a paracord lanyard to secure the holder, a back plate with an NFC tag and a pack of five air fresheners from the brand. The shop indicated that a storage pouch was out of stock and that it was considering a new option for that product.

Purchase, shipping and customer service

The prices shown on the website include shipping costs. Orders are dispatched via the Royal Mail Tracked 48 service, on the same day or, at the latest, the next day. It is possible to group several items in the same order, with the total automatically updated and the shipping cost of additional units discounted. The shop recommends adding its email address to the list of trusted senders, as automatic messages with order information, such as tracking numbers, may end up in the spam folder. The person responsible for the shop identifies himself as Tony and offers direct assistance to answer questions before buying.
