Steam Vape

Steam Vape, a British vaping chain with origins in Derby

Steam Vape is a UK company dedicated to selling vaping products. According to its own presentation, it was established at the end of 2011 and began operating from a small kiosk in the Westfield Derby shopping centre, primarily representing the VIP brand. The company notes that since then the sector has undergone major changes and the product range has expanded considerably, moving from cigarette-like devices to drippers, mechanical mods and other intermediate categories.

E-liquid and nicotine salt catalogue

The company sells a wide selection of e-liquids, with a particular focus on 10 ml nicotine salts. Among the brands in its catalogue are Bar Saltz, Lancashire Creamery, Nasty Liq, Zeus Juice, Steam Saltz, Riot Squad Punx, True Salts, Six Licks, Vampire Vape, Major Flavour, The Custard Company, Gold Bar, Riot Squad BLCK EDTN and Future Juice. The shop runs a recurring promotion of three nicotine salts for £10 and maintains a clearance section with discounts, such as Nasty Liq and Major Flavour, reduced from £3.99 to £1.50.

In addition to salts, the catalogue includes 10 ml liquids, 50 ml and 100 ml shortfills, and nicotine shots. The company states it works with one of the largest e-liquid manufacturers in Europe to produce its own Steam and Steam 80 lines. The Steam range is a 50/50 liquid, fully TPD compliant, available in five nicotine strengths and over 40 flavours. The Steam 80 line is designed for the sub-ohm market and is offered in 10 ml and shortfill formats; although shortfills are not subject to TPD regulations, the company indicates that Steam 80 would comply if the regulations applied to this format. It also works closely with E-liquid Blend, manufacturer and distributor of the Geology Juice, Mr Barista, Captain Pud Pud, Fruit Bat and Quencher brands.

Devices, replacement parts and accessories

In the hardware section, Steam Vape sells starter kits, pod systems, sub-ohm kits, mods and batteries, MTL and sub-ohm tanks, disposable tanks, replacement glass, coils and replacement pods, cartomizers and accessories. It also offers big puff vapes with closed pods and pre-filled pods. Among the featured products on the site are the Vaporesso Armour G kit, the Hayati Pro Max+, the Lost Vape Thelema Elite S, the OXVA XLIM Pro 2, the XROS 5, the Lost Vape URSA EPOCH, the PIXL 8000, the Vaporesso Deliciu and the Vaporesso Dojo Blast 10k, along with replacement pods from brands such as Hayati, Lost Mary and OXVA. The company states that it maintains a select product line and only supplies items it considers tried and tested quality products, rather than offering an endless variety of hardware.

Online sales, shipping and customer service

Operations are conducted through its online shop and a network of stores. The website offers free shipping on orders over £30, next-day delivery, collection from lockers and shops via DPD, and a loyalty points programme that gives back 5% of every purchase. The company states that its phone line is open from 8:30 to 17:45, where it handles enquiries and accepts orders by phone. It also publishes instructional videos on its website and on YouTube.
