About FibreNest

FibreNest: full fibre for the home in the UK

FibreNest is a full fibre broadband (FTTP) provider operating in the UK. Its offering focuses on high-speed symmetrical connections for domestic use, with packages ranging from 100 Mb to 900 Mb download, and an end-to-end fibre optic network. The company markets its services through its website and offers customer service from a UK call centre, available seven days a week.

Fibre packages and speeds

FibreNest's catalogue is organised into four speed tiers, all with full fibre and no installation fee in certain options:

  • 900 Mb: average download speed of 900 Mb and upload of 110 Mb. Aimed at high-consumption households, 4K Ultra HD content downloading, online gaming and real-time applications.
  • 500 Mb: average speed of 500 Mb download and 80 Mb upload. Designed for remote working, families with multiple devices and regular gamers.
  • 250 Mb: average speed of 250 Mb download and 40 Mb upload. For households with demand for 4K streaming and gaming on several devices simultaneously.
  • 100 Mb: average speed of 100 Mb download and 20 Mb upload. Suitable for Full HD television, downloads and intensive browsing.

The company states that the 900 Mb speed is available at 99% of locations, subject to availability.

Contract options and pricing

FibreNest offers three types of contract: 24 months, 12 months and 30-day flexible. Prices vary according to the option and package. On 24-month contracts, the price remains fixed for the duration and does not rise mid-contract; installation is also free. 12-month contracts also include free installation on the 900 Mb and 500 Mb packages, while the 250 Mb and 100 Mb ones have a one-off £25 installation charge. The 30-day flexible option does not require a minimum term and allows you to adjust the speed or pause the service; in this case, a one-off £25 installation charge applies and prices may increase from April 2027 as indicated on the site.

The website details promotional prices for the first 12 months on 24-month contracts, after which the standard rate applies. FibreNest states that it contacts customers 40 days before the end of the contract to inform them of the best available rates.

WiFi Guarantee and additional services

The company offers a WiFi Guarantee as an optional add-on for £11.95 per month, plus a one-off £9.99 delivery charge. This guarantee ensures a minimum WiFi download speed of 25 Mbps in every room of the home; if not met, FibreNest credits the customer £100. Full conditions are detailed in the service terms and conditions.

In addition, FibreNest markets a mesh WiFi system called FibreNest Smart WiFi, with technical features such as Wi-Fi 6, tri-band (2.4 GHz and two 5 GHz radios), two Gigabit Ethernet ports, WPA3 support and a quad-core processor. To extend coverage, it offers FibreNest Pods, WiFi extenders that combine router functions and are taken out as monthly add-ons without a minimum term. Network management is carried out through the Plume HomePass® app, which allows parental controls, guest access, internet freeze, speed tests and protection against threats such as cryptomining, ransomware, malware, viruses, botnets and phishing.

Network and coverage

FibreNest operates a full fibre network (100% fibre) that enables film downloads, music streaming, gaming and simultaneous video calls on multiple devices. The company does not specify in the material analysed a specific geographical scope beyond the UK, but its call centre and its focus on the British market confirm its activity in that country.
