Rigu

Rigu, camera straps and photography accessories in the UK

Rigu is an online store based in the UK operating in the photography accessories sector. Its catalogue is built around three main areas: camera straps, filters and creative photography accessories, and light painting accessories. The company presents itself as the store with the widest range of camera straps in the UK and states it has been offering service since 2011.

Camera straps: variety of mounts and materials

The strap range is the core of the business. The store organises this section by connection type and material, and includes categories such as cotton straps, leather straps, neoprene straps, rope straps, vegan straps, wrist straps, neck straps, straps for DSLR cameras, for mirrorless and CSC cameras, for point-and-shoot cameras and for Rolleiflex models. It also offers straps with ring connection, flat mount, tripod mount and string loop connection, as well as harnesses and dual camera straps.

Among the brands distributed are Cam-in, Simplr, HoldFast Gear and Rigu's own brand. Some examples from the catalogue are the olive green or royal blue cotton Rolleiflex camera strap by Cam-in, the green braided leather strap with neck pad, the Simplr W2 wrist strap with lug mount, the dark brown leather strap with ring connection and the black and silver nylon rope strap. Rigu also sells own-brand products, such as rubber lug bumpers and magnetic lens filter adapters.

Filters, prisms and creative photography

The second area of the catalogue brings together filters and prisms for creative photography. The store classifies these products into 4x5.65-inch cinema filters, screw-in filters, filter adapters and accessories, and handheld creative filters and prisms. Among the featured items are the Fractal Filters in their classic three-piece version, the large-format stretch handheld filters and the Black Mist filters, which the store presents as softening skin tones and diffusing highlights. It also offers magnetic adapters that convert screw-in filters into magnetic filters.

Light painting and complementary accessories

Rigu dedicates a specific section to light painting, with products such as the Light Painting Brushes universal connector, which allows flashlights and torches to be attached to different accessories, and nine-inch fibre optic brushes. In addition, the catalogue includes photography books and guides, camera strap adapters, shutter release buttons, split rings and bags of various sizes, from models for point-and-shoot cameras to large bags for DSLR cameras, with padded inserts.

Service, shipping and ratings

The store advertises free shipping on all UK orders, with payment options for faster delivery, and quick dispatch of orders. At the time of analysis, the website showed a rating of 4.9 out of 5 on Trustpilot and a clearance section with hundreds of items added in September. The company states it offers personalised customer service and is an official supplier of HoldFast Gear in the UK.
