OnlineRadioCodes.co.uk, car radio code retrieval

OnlineRadioCodes.co.uk is an online service specialising in obtaining unlock codes for vehicle car radios. The customer enters the unit's serial number and receives the code that reactivates the radio, for example after a battery change or disconnection. The company has been operating since 2015 and estimates that it has delivered more than one million codes since then.

How the unlocking process works

The procedure is organised in three steps. First, locate the serial number, which usually appears on the radio screen or on a label on the top or side of the unit. Then select the car brand, enter the serial number and complete payment, for which Visa, Mastercard, PayPal, Apple Pay and Google Pay are accepted, with no need to create an account. Finally, the code is displayed on screen once payment is confirmed and is also sent by email as a backup; according to the company, 99% of codes arrive within one hour.

Most orders only require the unit's serial number, without a registration number or VIN. The exception is Nissan radios, which need two serial numbers and the date shown on the unit. The company states that its codes come from manufacturer records and that, if a unit has previously been recoded and the original code does not work, the full amount is refunded.

Car radio brands covered

The catalogue is organised by vehicle brand and mentions, among others, Volkswagen (Golf, Polo), Renault (Clio, Megane), Honda (Civic, CR-V), Ford (Fiesta, Focus), Nissan (Qashqai, Juke), Dacia (Sandero, Duster), Jeep (Wrangler, Cherokee), Fiat (500, Panda), Chrysler (Voyager, 300C) and Dodge (Journey, Nitro), plus more than 26 additional brands.

Guarantees and code storage

The service comes with a money-back guarantee if the code does not work and with permanent storage of the code obtained: if the customer loses it later, the company resends it free of charge. The website shows a rating of 4.5 out of 5 based on 22,558 verified Trustpilot reviews and declares a 99% success rate. It also warns of the existence of imitation sites with similar names and points to its exact domain to identify itself.
