Under the Rose is a British personalised jewellery firm founded in 2007 by Tracy, a jewellery designer, with its own workshop in Surrey. The company works with fine silver and solid gold pieces that are engraved or encoded with messages, names, photographs or prints, so that each item is linked to a specific person, pet or memory. Its catalogue is organised into collections for women, men, weddings and pets, as well as a memorial jewellery line.

From print to piece: how an item is made

The process described by the firm itself consists of three steps. The customer first chooses the piece they wish to personalise; then they capture the print using one of the kits the company sends or uploads an impression they already have; and finally the Surrey team turns it into jewellery. This method applies to fingerprints as well as hand and foot prints, dog nose and paw prints and samples of handwriting.

The range includes charms, cufflinks, keyrings, pendants, bracelets and bookmarks.
