Crazy Price Carpets

Crazy Price Carpets, flooring retailer in Stockton-on-Tees

Crazy Price Carpets is a British company dedicated to the sale and installation of floor coverings, with a warehouse showroom on Portrack Lane, Stockton-on-Tees. The company presents itself as an alternative to the big national chains: according to its own account, it buys directly from manufacturers and operates from a single warehouse to reduce costs and pass those savings on to the customer. The company states it has been serving homes and businesses across the North East of England and Yorkshire since 2010.

Flooring catalogue

The range is organised into four product families:

• Carpets: options described as soft, durable and suited to different budgets.
• Laminate: a practical, cost-effective wood-effect alternative with easy maintenance.
• LVT: wood- and stone-effect flooring, water-resistant and with thermal insulation.
• Vinyl: a versatile, affordable option for kitchens and bathrooms, available in a range of colours and styles.

The company states that the catalogue includes more than 500 carpet and flooring lines, as well as remnants, roll ends and take-home-today lines. It also offers full house packs from £399, according to the information published on its site.

Home visit and buying process

The service is structured in four steps: booking an appointment via a form, a visit from an adviser to the home with more than 1,000 samples, choosing the flooring with an instant quote and, finally, installation by its own team of fitters. Measuring and advice are free and with no obligation. The company also offers the option of buying the material only and handling the installation yourself. The standard fitting time stated is ten days for carpet, vinyl, LVT and laminate, subject to demand at the time.

Additional services

Alongside sales and fitting, Crazy Price Carpets offers an uplift and removal service for old flooring. All products come with a guarantee, the length of which varies depending on the line. The company offers finance through SNAP Finance with a 0% interest option.

Geographical coverage

The company states it operates across the North East of England and Yorkshire. Among the areas mentioned are Newcastle, Sunderland, Durham, Darlington, Hartlepool, Teesside, Middlesbrough, Stockton-on-Tees, York, Harrogate, Leeds, Doncaster, Sheffield and Barnsley.

Company-stated figures

In its presentation, Crazy Price Carpets states it has supplied and installed flooring in more than 25,000 homes, has covered 425,000 square metres and has more than 20,000 square feet of warehouse space. It also operates a commercial policy called the Crazy Price Promise: if the customer finds the same flooring cheaper elsewhere, the company states it will give them the product free and £1,000 in cash. These are claims made by the company itself and published on its website.
