Kernow Ear Health

Kernow Ear Health: ear wax microsuction in Cornwall

Kernow Ear Health is a private clinic specialising in ear wax removal by microsuction, for adults and children. It operates from three locations in Cornwall (England): St Columb Major, Liskeard and Threemilestone, in Truro. The company describes itself as Cornwall's first clinic dedicated exclusively to ear wax removal, established in St Columb in 2017.

Clinic services

The service range includes ear examinations, microsuction ear cleaning, advice on managing ear wax and on ear care, custom ear plugs and home visits. Custom ear plugs, designed for surfers and swimmers, are offered at a stated price of £70.00, which includes the consultation and impressions. Home visits are available in the mid Cornwall area for patients with reduced mobility who cannot attend one of the clinics; the service costs a £40 call-out fee plus £25 per ear for treatment.

Professional team

The clinic has four healthcare professionals — Zoe, Bridget, Mitch and Emma — all trained in ear wax microsuction. Zoe, a specialist nurse, leads the practice and brings training and international experience in modern microsuction techniques. Jane and Beverley handle reception, call management and appointment booking.

Fees and appointment terms

The initial consultation for new patients costs £15 and includes examination and advice. Treatment is charged at £25 per ear; if no treatment is needed, only the consultation fee is payable. Cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice or missed appointments without notice incur a £15 charge. Appointments can be booked online or by phone.

The three locations in Cornwall

The main clinic is in St Columb Major, in the former Barclays bank building, opposite the Red Lion pub. The Liskeard clinic operates on Tuesdays at the Caradon Physio and Wellness Centre, where it moved in January 2024. The Threemilestone clinic, in Truro, sees patients on Mondays and occasional Thursdays, with Mitch or Emma. The company also has a registered office at Rosewin Barn, Lower East Street, St. Columb.

Opening hours

The clinic's general opening hours are Monday to Saturday, closed on Sundays. For appointments outside these hours, the company advises calling the team. The clinic accepts bookings both online and by phone.
