Ms Amerasinghe has taken part in research projects, including a large study into the heritability of primary angle closure glaucoma, carried out jointly with the Singapore National Eye Centre and the Institute of Ophthalmology at University College London. She authored the British Medical Journal Best Practice document on primary open angle glaucoma (2023) and is currently the principal investigator of a multicentre project on real-world data in the management of open angle glaucoma.
