D&H Windows, aluminium and PVC joinery in South Shields

D&H Windows is a family-run company based in South Shields (Tyne and Wear) that has spent more than three decades supplying and installing windows, doors and conservatories. The company presents itself as a long-established business in the sector and serves both South Shields and the whole of the North East of England. It has a showroom where it displays designs and products, and has its own installation team.

Windows: PVC, flush sash and sliding

The window range includes PVC models, flush sash windows and sliding sash windows. The company offers a variety of styles and decorative glass options. Highlights include the availability of triple glazing on casement windows, aimed at a modern look and greater energy savings. Double-glazed tilt and turn windows are also available.

Entrance, patio and French doors

In the doors section, D&H Windows sells composite doors, PVC doors, sliding patio doors, French doors and aluminium bi-fold doors. Composite door installation is carried out by the company's own team. Aluminium bi-fold doors are presented as a solution to transform the home and maximise views outside.

Conservatories, orangeries and warm roofs

The company installs conservatories and orangeries, and includes self-cleaning active glass as standard in conservatories. It carries out conservatory roof conversions with lightweight tiles and offers warm roof systems that incorporate rafters, insulation, Velux windows for natural light and various options for lighting integrated into the ceiling. According to the company's information, the warm roof system prevents loss of space during the cold, damp winter months, and removes the need to keep sliding doors sealed shut during that season. Lightweight steel Metrotile roofs are also offered, weighing up to one seventh of traditional roofing materials, which allows them to be installed on PVC conservatory structures.

Other services: porches, roofline and minor works

As well as windows, doors and conservatories, D&H Windows provides porches, roofline (fascia, soffit and guttering), small extensions and sun rooms. The company also carries out repairs in these areas. All work is carried out by its experienced in-house team.

Guarantee, certification and finance

D&H Windows is FENSA-registered, which supports the quality and regulatory compliance of its installations. The company offers a 10-year insurance-backed guarantee on installation and materials. It also has finance options with buy now pay later. The company states that, by accepting a quote or agreement, the customer consents to their personal data being shared with third parties to comply with the requirements of the Competent Person Scheme for self-certification under building regulations; that data is retained for the lifetime of the guarantees, which do not exceed 10 years.

Quotes and coverage

The company offers free, no-obligation quotes, and states that it covers the whole of the North East of England. Its presentation points include high quality standards and reliable communication throughout the process, from quote to completion. The company makes window and door design tools available to customers.
