Eco7 Energy

Eco7 Energy, specialists in solar PV and energy storage

Eco7 Energy is a British company dedicated to renewable energy technologies. Its main activity focuses on PV installations, battery storage systems and the replacement and servicing of solar inverters. The company presents itself as a specialist in these areas and complements its offering with services to improve the performance of existing solar and storage installations.

Solar installation and maintenance services

Eco7 Energy's service catalogue covers several lines of work:

• Installation of solar PV panels.
• Battery storage, both in new configurations and in already installed systems.
• Replacement of solar inverters, with state-of-the-art equipment, free monitoring and a ten-year warranty.
• Repair of solar inverters.
• SolarEdge retrofit.
• Protection of solar panels against birds and pests.
• Cleaning of solar panels.
• Removal and reinstallation of solar panels.

The company also offers system health checks to verify that they continue to perform at their best.

Battery storage and energy management

Eco7 Energy presents battery storage as a way to make better use of the energy generated and to reduce electricity costs. Among the advantages it associates with these systems are increased self-consumption, protection against power cuts for essential appliances, storage of electricity purchased on cheap tariffs — such as the Economy 7 tariff — to use when energy is more expensive, and the possibility that a retro-fitted AC battery does not affect the feed-in tariff (FIT).

Panel maintenance and protection

The company maintains that dirt can reduce the efficiency and output of panels, even if only one unit is affected, because the performance of a string of panels is only as good as that of the worst one. That is why it includes cleaning as a service to protect the investment and increase performance. It also addresses the problem of birds nesting under or near the panels: the droppings and dirt they deposit on the surface reduce system output, so Eco7 Energy offers protection solutions against nesting.

Coverage and way of working

Eco7 Energy provides installation services in England, Wales and parts of Scotland, and most of its services are available in England and Wales. The company states that it does not employ sales reps and offers open, fixed pricing, with no hidden extras. According to its presentation, the team is made up of qualified electrical engineers and renewable energy specialists, with more than thirty years of combined experience, and the installers hold the corresponding accreditations and qualifications. The company indicates that installation times can usually be arranged just days in advance and that it maintains a 100% positive feedback rating on Trustpilot.

Inverters and brands serviced

Among the specific services related to inverters, the website mentions the replacement of faulty Solis inverters and the solution for the Aurora E031 fault, as well as the SolarEdge retrofit. The company presents itself as a specialist in both the replacement and maintenance of solar PV inverters.
