About Easy Pay Mobility
Mobility scooter hire across the UK
Easy Pay Mobility is a British company dedicated to hiring mobility scooters and power wheelchairs, with coverage throughout the UK. The company presents itself as the country's largest mobility scooter hire company and puts the number of customers who have used its services at 25,000. Its proposition is built around flexible hire contracts, with no deposit and affordable monthly payments, as an alternative to buying a new scooter.
Origins: from reconditioning to pay-as-you-use
Easy Pay Mobility grew out of the earlier journey of Mobility Giant, a firm founded in 2010 by Richard and William, two friends who identified two problems in their circle: the high cost of new scooters and the complexity of the buying process. Their response was to acquire used scooters from leading brands and recondition them to a showroom standard, so that customers could access quality products for roughly half the price of a new one. The reception of that model led them to expand the catalogue to power wheelchairs. Easy Pay Mobility emerged later, from customers' own demand for a pay-as-you-use option: access to high-end scooters through a hire contract, without needing to buy the product and with different payment options adapted to each financial situation.
What the hire contract includes
The hire package the company offers includes a series of benefits which, according to its approach, save the user from worrying about insurance, hidden costs or repairs:
- Affordable monthly payments.
- Choice of the latest scooter within the available range.
- Free nationwide delivery, with the vehicle assembled and ready to use.
- Guided demonstration on delivery.
- Fully comprehensive insurance.
- Maintenance and repairs included.
- 24-hour breakdown recovery.
- No deposit required.
Scooter catalogue and weekly rates
The website shows a scooter catalogue organised by type of use — car boot folding, pavement/4mph, road/8mph and all-terrain — with reference weekly prices. Featured models include the Invacare Colibri (from £18.50/week), the Kymco K-Lite FE (from £21.95/week), the TGA Minimo Autofold (from £22.95/week), the Kymco Midi XLS (from £24.95/week), the Invacare Comet Pro 4W and the Kymco Agility (both from £26.95/week), the Galaxy 2 and the Kymco Maxi XLS (from £29.95/week) and the TGA Breeze S3 and S4 together with the Excel Supernova Evo (from £34.95/week). Folding models are offered only in the 4mph version, while 8mph and all-terrain models are non-folding.
ScooterFinder™: assisted model selection
The company has developed its own tool, ScooterFinder™, which guides the user through seven questions to identify the scooter best suited to their needs. The questionnaire asks whether the vehicle needs to fold or break apart to fit in a car, the maximum speed required, the environments of use (road, off road or pavement), the approximate travel distance, the user's weight and height and their main health conditions, including diabetes, stroke, MS, fibromyalgia, arthritis, heart conditions, Parkinson's, breathing conditions and back pain. When no option in the catalogue matches the profile, the tool refers the user to a telephone advisor to guide them towards the most suitable machine.
Hire process
The procedure described by the company consists of three steps: choose the scooter and the hire period, place the order via form or by phone with an advisor, and receive the vehicle at home already assembled and ready to use. The company maintains a sales and telephone support line, and its activity is completed with power wheelchair hire services.
