About Engineius
Engineius, on-demand vehicle movement in the UK
Engineius is a tech-enabled service specialising in vehicle movement operating across the UK. The company allows other companies to book, track and manage vehicle movements entirely online, with a price request that the firm says takes around 30 seconds and a price always presented before confirming the order. It was founded in April 2018 and since then has added more than 70 fleet clients across key sectors.
The company presents itself as a division of Vehicle Movement Exchange UK Ltd, with company registration number 09631875, and was founded by Chris Clibbery and Mark Jannaway, both with long careers in the automotive industry.
Movement types and services
Engineius covers three forms of vehicle movement: driven, plated and transported. From there it builds an offering aimed at different stages of the vehicle lifecycle:
- Inter-site movements.
- Services for the retail channel.
- Defleet, i.e. fleet de-fleeting management.
- DataClear, a service to delete personal data stored in the vehicle.
The service is supported by a bespoke platform that covers everything from price request and booking to real-time tracking and post-movement reporting. Every movement generates a full audit trail with photos, GPS tracking and timestamps that can be monitored online. Once the order is placed, the client remains in control of the operation while Engineius takes responsibility for the logistics.
Driver and transport agent network
To carry out movements, the company has a network of more than 600 drivers and transport agents who collect and deliver vehicles throughout the country. Engineius takes on both employed and self-employed personnel, as well as transport agents, and keeps open recruitment routes for self-employed drivers, full-time drivers and transport agents.
Sustainability and carbon offsetting
The company links its operating model to an environmental argument: it maintains that avoiding chaser vehicles saves 14 miles of additional road travel for every 10 miles of vehicle movement, and puts the CO2 saved since its launch in April 2018 at more than 10,000,000 tonnes. It has also offset its corporate carbon footprint with climate neutral expert Climate Partner.
Awards and industry activity
Engineius describes itself as a multi award-winning tech-enabled service and lists several awards received between 2021 and 2024: Innovation in Digital at the Great British Fleet Awards, Best Fleet Software at the Business Car Awards for four consecutive years, and the Fleet Management Innovation award at the Company Car Today Innovation Awards. The company is a member of the Vehicle Remarketing Association (VRA), an association founded in 2010 that represents the interests of businesses in the used car sector in the UK, from valuation and preparation to transportation and sale.
DataClear and in-vehicle data protection
In June 2026 the company launched Engineius DataClear, presented as the vehicle movement industry's first data privacy service, developed with the backing of Privacy4Cars. The service deletes personal data stored inside vehicles for the company's customers. The firm has also reported that its drivers maintain consistently high service standards.
Sectors served
Engineius's activity is aimed at accident and claims management, breakdown, corporate fleet, leasing, rental and retail, in addition to the defleet and DataClear services already mentioned.
