About TopCashback
TopCashback, a British cashback and coupon platform
TopCashback is a UK website specialising in cashback and coupons. It works on an affiliate model: when a user visits a retailer's website through its links and makes a purchase, the retailer pays the platform a commission for sending the buyer its way. TopCashback shares that commission with the user, and calls that amount cashback. According to its own presentation, the cashback is ultimately paid by the retailer.
The platform is funded by sponsored advertising and promotions distributed around the site, and sometimes retailers pay an additional bonus when the platform sends a high volume of shoppers their way.
Accounts, costs and terms of use
Signing up is free. The company offers two types of account:
- Classic account: with no charges whatsoever.
- Plus account: £5 is deducted from annual cashback earnings and the user receives a range of additional benefits.
How cashback is earned and withdrawn
Cashback usually appears on the earnings page within seven days of purchase, but it is not available for withdrawal straight away. The platform waits until the retailer's returns period is over and the retailer confirms the cashback; once the retailer pays the commission, the amount becomes available for withdrawal.
Withdrawals can be made in more than 60 different ways, including bank transfer, PayPal or gift card. Some gift cards include a bonus of up to 20%. Among the most popular gift cards mentioned on the site are Virgin Experience Days, Just Eat, Amazon, Google Play and Love2Shop.
Available retailers and categories
The catalogue includes more than 5,500 retailers. The platform states that almost any online purchase can be eligible and groups its offering into categories such as fashion, electronics, home and garden, groceries, food and drink, utilities and travel. Among the brands it features are Asda George, ASOS, M&M Direct, Nasty Gal, Amazon, AO, Currys, Mobile Phones Direct, Argos, Debenhams, Dunelm, eBay, Asda Groceries, Marks & Spencer, Sainsbury's, Tesco, Deliveroo, Domino's, Gousto, Just Eat, NOW Broadband, Sky, Uswitch, Virgin Media, Expedia, Hotels.com, lastminute.com, Travelodge, Boots, Very, LOOKFANTASTIC and Wayfair.
Unlike other UK cashback sites, the platform lets you compare broadband deals and insurance policies to find the best option for you, with cashback on top. It offers car insurance, home insurance and broadband comparison tools.
Access from browser and mobile
The service can be used via a browser extension available for Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari, and through a mobile app that is activated by scanning a QR code with the phone's camera. The platform also offers a referral programme with a £20 reward, money guides and a blog.
International reach and group activity
The company reports more than 25 million members worldwide and presents itself as the UK's leading cashback site, with more than ten awards won. It runs sites for the United States, China, Japan, Germany, France, Australia, Italy and Spain, in addition to the UK domain. The group states that it directs charity donations and green investments towards creating a positive impact.
