GRC Solar: solar energy and storage installation in the UK

GRC Solar Limited is a British company dedicated to installing renewable energy systems for homes and businesses. Its activity focuses on solar panels, battery storage systems and air source heat pumps, with the aim of enabling customers to generate and store their own electricity. The company operates from its head office in Cheshire and presents itself as an installer with accreditations in the solar and renewable energy sector.

Products and energy solutions

GRC Solar's catalogue includes three main lines:

• Solar panels: photovoltaic systems for electricity generation on the property itself.
• Battery storage: solutions that make it possible to use energy generated during the day at night as well.
• Air source heat pumps: efficient heating and cooling equipment integrated into the renewables offering.

The company also administers the SEG (Smart Export Guarantee) mechanism, which allows property owners to receive payment for surplus electricity exported to the grid.

Contracting and installation process

GRC Solar structures its service in three phases. First, the customer requests a consultation by phone or through the website, and the sales team guides the first steps. Then, a technician visits the property to assess energy needs and roof suitability, and provides a personalised quote with transparent pricing, projected savings and flexible payment options. Finally, the company's certified technicians carry out the system installation.

Warranties and financial terms

The company offers warranties of up to 25 years on solar panels and up to 12 years on battery systems. It also applies a 0% VAT offer on installation, valid according to published information until 31 March 2027. As for savings, GRC Solar states that many of its customers reduce their electricity bill by up to 80%, although the company itself notes that savings depend on system generation, the customer's annual electricity usage and changes in electricity rates.

Accreditations and trust

GRC Solar states that it holds accreditations from organisations in the solar and renewable energy sector, which support the quality, safety and reliability of each installation. The company is also a member of HIES, a certification scheme for renewable energy installers in the UK. In its presentation, it describes itself as an installer that has served thousands of homeowners and businesses, with a team of qualified installers and a customer service team that has received recognition.
