Grainger Motor Group is a group of new and used car dealerships operating 20 locations in Hertfordshire and East Anglia. The company presents itself as an award-winning automotive retailer and claims to be the fastest-growing dealership group in the UK. It was founded in 2022 by brothers Harry and Neal Grainger and comprises three automotive businesses: Mantles Group, EMG Motor Group and Norton Way.

The group represents brands such as Kia, Mazda, Honda, Nissan, MG, Omoda, Jaecoo and BYD. Its dealerships offer new and approved used vehicles, flexible finance solutions, part-exchange and sell-your-car options, as well as aftersales services including manufacturer-approved servicing, MOT, repairs and supply of genuine parts and accessories.

Mantles: over a century in Royston

Mantles Group represents Grainger Motor Group in Hertfordshire, with Mantles Kia and BYD dealerships in Royston. The company has been in business for over 100 years and has built a reputation for professionalism, transparency and a customer-first approach.

Norton Way: expansion in Letchworth

Norton Way dealerships are part of the Mantles Group division. In January 2026, Grainger Motor Group acquired three dealerships in Letchworth, Hertfordshire: Nissan, Honda and Mazda. In summer 2026, the group added a fourth brand to the Letchworth area with the arrival of Omoda Jaecoo. The new GMG Omoda Jaecoo Letchworth dealership is located on Norton Way North, next to the Nissan, Honda and Mazda showrooms.

EMG Motor Group: presence in East Anglia

EMG Motor Group operates an extensive dealership network across East Anglia. With modern showrooms and local teams, EMG Motor Group has been offering customers a wide variety of vehicles, expert advice and a high standard of service for over 50 years, both when buying new or used vehicles and when maintaining existing ones.

Sales and aftersales services

The group's activities cover the sale of new and approved used vehicles, finance, part-exchange and purchase of used vehicles, and car and van rental. In aftersales, the dealerships offer servicing, MOT, repairs, genuine parts and accessories, tyres, air conditioning, EV battery testing and four-wheel alignment. The group also participates in the Motability scheme for mobility vehicles.

The group's website allows searching among more than 1,423 vehicles in stock and offers the possibility of buying online, with finance options and search by make, model, grade, budget, annual mileage, term and deposit.

Awards and recent developments

Grainger Motor Group has received several awards. In 2026 it was named one of the UK's Best Workplaces by Great Place To Work®, ranking 79th in the large companies category (201-1,000 employees) and being the only car dealership group in the top 100. That same year it obtained the UK's Best Workplaces for Development™ 2026 recognition.

At the AM Awards 2026, the group won three awards: "EV Performance of the Year" for EMG Cambridge Kia, "Workshop of the Year" for Mantles Kia and "Used Car Performance of the Year" for Grainger Motor Group. At the Motor Trader Industry Awards 2025, it achieved four awards: "Aftersales Excellence Award", "Franchised Dealership of the Year" for Mantles Kia, "Most Improved Dealership of the Year" for EMG Kia & Mazda Cambridge and "Used Car Dealer Group of the Year".

In January 2026, the group celebrated a double triumph at the first BYD UK Retailer Awards, with the Retailer Group of the Year and Aftersales Retailer of the Year awards for EMG BYD Kings Lynn. Also in January 2026, at the Kia UK National Dealer Conference, it obtained five of the eight main awards, including Dealer of the Year for EMG Cambridge, Aftersales Excellence Award for EMG Ely and EV Excellence Award for EMG Cambridge.

In November 2025, Grainger Motor Group entered the AM100 list at 76th place, as one of the fastest-growing family businesses to achieve that status. That same month, EMG King's Lynn and EMG Cambridge opened Kia PBV centres, with dedicated facilities, specialist staff and expanded services for business and fleet customers. In September 2025, the group opened BYD Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk, its fourth BYD location, after refurbishing and rebranding a former EMG used car dealership.

In March 2026, the EMG Huntingdon and Duxford showrooms added new franchises: EMG Omoda Jaecoo Huntingdon and EMG Nissan Cambridge (Duxford), following major refurbishments. The group also announces the opening of Chery Cambridge for autumn 2026.
