Wolverine Garage Doors, independent garage door installer in the Thames Valley

Wolverine Garage Doors Ltd is a family-run company based in Reading (Berkshire) that has been supplying, installing, automating and repairing garage doors and entrance doors since 2011. It operates as an independent installer of several brands and covers Berkshire, Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Hampshire and Surrey, with a particularly strong presence in towns such as Reading, Oxford, Wokingham, Bracknell, Maidenhead, Slough, Newbury, Henley-on-Thames, Marlow, High Wycombe, Basingstoke, Camberley, Farnborough, Aldershot, Abingdon, Didcot, Wallingford, Thatcham, Crowthorne and Sandhurst.

The company's catalogue covers six families of garage doors, each aimed at different space, insulation and budget requirements, plus a coordinated line of entrance doors. The prices published on the website are indicative and relate to installation:

The firm also offers an online tool to design your garage door, choosing style, material, colour, windows and opening type, and to obtain an itemised guide price that can be sent to the company.

Brands it installs

Wolverine presents itself as an authorised and independent installer of the brands it recommends, without exclusive ties to a single manufacturer. Its range includes Hörmann, Garador, Ryterna, Teckentrup and Comp Door, as well as the Ryterna Front Doors range. The company states that it would recommend a competing brand if that were the right option for the customer.

Working method and guarantee

The process is organised in three steps: a free home visit to measure and explain options with no obligation, a clear quote with VAT included that the customer is free to decide on, and an installation that usually takes between half a day and a day, with protection of the access and cleaning afterwards. The company stresses that surveys are carried out by the same team that installs, with no commission-driven sales reps, and that the five-year guarantee on parts and labour starts on the day the installation is completed. That guarantee also includes a free first-anniversary service to keep the manufacturer's warranty active. Finance is offered through Ideal4Finance, with options from 0% nominal annual interest; Wolverine Garage Doors Ltd acts as an appointed representative of Ideal Sales Solutions Ltd, a company that operates as a credit broker and not as a lender (FRN 703401).

Team and structure

The company describes itself as a small, owner-led team, without subcontracting installations, repairs or quotes. Richard, the owner and a specialist in the field, personally carries out installations, repairs and surveys. Karl is the senior engineer and fitter, with experience in complex installations and difficult diagnostics. Kayleigh handles enquiries, calls and emails, schedules visits and installations and coordinates repairs. Ava looks after the accounts.

Reviews and recent activity

The company shows a rating of 9.19 out of 10 based on more than 400 verified customer reviews on Checkatrade, which according to its presentation are linked to real installations at specific addresses. Among the recent work it displays are sectional doors in Reading, a Garador Carlton in Wokingham, an insulated roller door in Bracknell, an up and over door in Henley, a Ryterna entrance door in Oxford and a side hinged door in Marlow.
