Grimeford Mill

Grimeford Mill, British manufacturer of coir mats and technical matting

Grimeford Mill presents itself as a manufacturer and online distributor of mats and matting for commercial and domestic use. The company describes itself as the UK's leading manufacturer of coir mats and other types of commercial matting, with prices it describes as competitive. Its catalogue combines direct-sale products with cut-to-size services.

Coir mats and entrance matting

The core product is the coir mat, made from the fibrous layers of coconut husks. The company highlights its resistance and durability for high-traffic areas. The range includes PVC-backed coir mats and a line of entrance matting designed to withstand frequent footfall and trap dirt.

Among the commercial variants are OX mats, available in various colours and in a made-to-measure version. The catalogue also mentions rubber-edged coir mats as a practical option for modern interiors.

Cut to size and fitting to mat wells

Grimeford Mill offers PVC-backed coir mats cut to the exact size requested by the customer, designed to fit precisely into mat wells. The company states that it has several grades to suit different budgets and that it only charges for the exact size needed, with no waste. It also claims to stock some of the thinnest PVC backing available in the UK.

Catalogue for businesses and workplaces

The range extends to brush mats, synthetic fibre mats, outdoor mats, rug underlays, anti-fatigue mats, loose lay mats, entrance mats, back door mats, hallway runner mats, heavy-duty mats and reception mats. For the professional sector, the company sells customisable business mats with a logo or corporate message, as well as a bespoke matting line.

The catalogue also includes table protectors and other flooring products, although the company notes that entrance matting and flooring products are its best sellers.

Online sales and terms of service

Grimeford Mill operates as an internet-based distributor. The site advertises free delivery on all UK mainland orders, click & collect available on all UK orders and next-day delivery on UK mainland orders placed before 2pm Monday to Friday. It also indicates 14-day returns for standard-sized products and secure online payment.

The company publishes special end-of-line offers, available while stocks last. At the time of analysis, the catalogue showed made-to-measure OX mats in various colours at £86.75 reduced to £72.29.
